Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom is a special day classroom that focuses not only on academics but life skills. We strive to help our students understand their needs and how their bodies work. We also want to give the students the best tools to be able to become better at academics, life, and their overall independence.
The human-sized skeleton model will help us be able to show the students what their body looks like and how it functions.
This will help them now and in the future to have independence and autonomy with their bodies and health. They also enjoy investigating science with magnifying glasses. These magnifying glasses are small but mighty and will fit perfectly in a pocket or backpack to be able to be taken anywhere the students may need them.
Our students struggle with both spoken languages and written languages due to their hearing losses and other deficits. The reading trackers will help them to be able to read fluently without the struggle of having to keep track of where they are reading. This will greatly increase their reading fluency and speed.
All together we can increase their science fluency and maybe encourage a love of science!
