I teach at an Art and Science Magnet school. My students pick an area of concentration whether that be science, dance, art, band, or drama. Students must apply to get into our school. We are not a school that students are zoned for. Students who are in my classes are either the lab students who take their core science class and mine or students who are in the accelerated class. Accelerated classes are working towards receiving high school credit in 8th grade. Students at my school come from a variety of backgrounds, but a large majority struggle with some of the basic school supplies.
Students in my classes come to our school to improve themselves academically, particularly in science.
It is so important that I challenge them and allow them to explore the world while in my class.
My science department is looking to have tables that we can use for our various community activities. We struggle making sure that we are able to find and get enough tables for our events.
Our department puts on several big events throughout the year like STEAM night and science fair.
We are in constant need of tables to be in use to either display work for the science fair or be in use for activities.
By having tables, we will be able to set up so much quicker for our activities. We will not have to worry about paying rental fees.
