Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach science to a wonderful group of seventh and eighth graders in New Haven, CT. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and family dynamics. Not only are my students trying to master many topics in Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Earth Science; many are also English Language Learners!
Each one is eager to learn, explore and discover the world around them!
I am excited to help them explore the world around them and to share my love of science to every one of my students!
My Project
Every year my district does a district wide science fair. One requirement is for students to have a lab notebook. I would like to be able to provide these notebooks for my students.
Keeping a laboratory notebook is a key skill to develop and have as a scientist.
I want to be able to teach my students this important skill. I want my students to have a place to keep all of their research, thoughts, trials and errors for their science fair project in one place. By learning how to keep a laboratory notebook for an experiment now, they will hone skills they will need for high school and college.
