My Project
First graders are fascinating to teach because they love to learn; my challenge while working with seven-year-olds in 2022 is the range of learners in my classroom. It is so important to keep all students engaged. The STEM kits and additional supplies I have requested will help make that possible. Science lessons and experiments are their favorite, and they are easy to differentiate! We live in a rural, Title I school district, with a majority receiving free or reduced-price lunches. Some of the kids' most positive experiences are at school.
Students today need to study and understand the world we live in so they can make decisions, problem-solve and make a positive impact in the future.
Science instruction encourages students to learn through exploration and questioning. These are exactly the kind of learning experiences and opportunities students need! By giving students the space and opportunity to build scientific knowledge, they are able to interact with classmates and problem-solve.
My students live in a rural, Title I school district, with a majority receiving free or reduced-price lunches. There is a wide range of learners in my class, including gifted students, students with special education needs, and students with socio-emotional delays.
My class will use these materials to meet first grade standards through whole group demonstrations and small group learning stations.
