My Project

My students not only learn to do science in my classroom, they also learn to communicate it to others. This project will ensure that each of my students will have their own lab notebook for the 2022-2023 school year. This is where we write our daily observations, our lingering questions, and our conclusions.

Student lab notebooks give each student the opportunity to learn great literacy skills, and practice what they learn in their English and Algebra classes in Physics.

My focus is to have students take the writing skills learned in English and apply them to demonstrate their ability to communicate scientific concepts. We also apply skills such as graphing and data analysis that are learned in Algebra to provide evidence to support their thoughts. Physics is an ideal subject for cross-curricular integration.
