Nothing ever becomes real until it is experienced.

Students learn deeply when asked to explain their knowledge and describe their experiences. Writing is a formidable task for many students, but science topics are good teasers for the reluctant students.
Our students are from all over the world in an urban setting nestled among trees.
Half of the students are designated low socioeconomic and have limited access to technology at home. In order for them to develop current day skills in technology, they need computer access in the classroom daily.
My Project
We will be visiting our outdoor gardens and writing about them in an online forum. Working in small groups, students will develop science knowledge through problem based learning. With the Chromebook, they can create Google presentations to showcase their learning. Each small group will need access to technology, so this is a good step toward that.
Our school district has new science curriculum that has wonderful vocabulary games online. This Chromebook would be a science vocabulary building workstation.
In our classroom we are building leaders in math and science.
Regular communication explaining explorations will go a long way towards maintaining enthusiasm and cementing scientific knowledge.
