We are always moving the room around to aid in group work. Working with one another is one of the top rated ways my students like to complete projects.
My students are a motivated bunch.
There are three different 5th grade science classes that come through my classroom each day. Each class has their own unique personalities but they all love to work together with hands-on projects.
My school is a Title I school in a rural town in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Many of the students in my school receive free and reduced priced lunch.
My Project
I am requesting five Prism Rectangle Tables to create a collaborative, more comfortable, engaging environment in the science lab. These tables will create a space for my students to foster their learning with collaboration and teamwork. In science we are constantly working in groups and doing hands-on activities. With these tables we will have the type of room we need to further our learning successfully.
By funding this project my students will have a clean and flat workspace to be successful scientists.
Allowing them to have the space for them to work with their classmates will aid in their ability to collaborate more successfully. Sharing a space with other students will further their listening and conversation skills as well. With these tables in the classroom instead of desks it will allow more flexible seating for the students in other areas of the room reaching all learners needs.
