it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My goal for this project is to establish an interactive STEM club for intermediate students who have a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Science clubs can be especially meaningful for elementary students from low-income backgrounds, offering early exposure to STEM fields that can ignite an interest leading to academic success and career paths they might not have otherwise considered.
The STEM club will foster critical thinking skills and nurture natural curiosity.
For students who may not have many opportunities to ask questions or explore ideas, this club can serve as a supportive environment where their curiosity is encouraged and valued. Beyond cognitive development, participation in STEM activities also helps build confidence and a positive self-image. By engaging in experiments and problem-solving tasks, students can gain confidence in their abilities—something particularly important for those who might struggle in other areas or face challenges at home.
In a Title I school, a STEM club can be a transformative experience, providing students with the tools, support, and inspiration they need to succeed academically and in life.
