it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advance in science."
Albert Einstein
We are the home of the Lions where we always say, "Never, Never Give Up." I have 23 wonderful students that come to school ready to work and do their best.
Our class logo is "Dedication - Hard Work." They come with a very diverse range of home structures: nuclear, single parent, foster and migrant, to name a few. My students love to be at school and enjoy learning, especially when the activities involve STEM. Many of them are already planning to become engineers, scientists, mathematicians, etc.
My Project
Advances in technology and science are transforming our world at an incredible pace, and our children's future will surely be filled with leaps in technology we can only imagine. Being "science literate" will no longer be just an advantage but an absolute necessity. We can't escape from the significance of science in our world. I will start my STEM club in which I need multiple resources to establish a successful program. I will use the screwdrivers and the wireless drills to help my students built their robots. I'm also requesting glue guns with glue sticks so my students can build catapults and other fun projects during our club. The students will use sheets protectors to keep their science notes and research projects. I will use the stock cards to print certificates of accomplishments. The color and black ink will help my students with their colorful projects.
I love those moments when students suddenly see something amazing, or grasp a concept, and their eyes light up.
Having these materials that I'm requesting will allow these moments to happen more frequently. I want my students to develop confidence to think for themselves, developing and testing new theories, which is our scientific culture.
