My students need some more interactive materials including insect specimens and terrariums for the classroom and for their projects.

My Students

Most of my students are developing English Language skills and are from diverse backgrounds. Most have recently come to this country from another country and are working on learning the language. All are motivated and eager to assimilate into the culture and strive for success.

Our school is located in Brooklyn.

We are a 6-12 school and we do not screen students. We invite all students with open arms and we work hard to provide all students with the resources they need.

My Project

This project will allow students to create dioramas of different ecosystems for their mastery tasks. This project will help them to prepare for the Living Environment regents which is a state requirement. This is an interactive project that is hands on and allows students to create ecosystems that they may not be able to visit. Students will work in groups in order to share resources and will present their work both to their peers and to staff at the school. The projects will remain on display for others to be able to see and use. This projects will be used as examples for others.

My students need terrariums so that they can create these dioramas.

In addition I would like to provide them with actual species so that they can view specimens that they may not otherwise be able to get the chance to observe. This will allow students to be able to create a more realistic diorama by incorporating thee specimens into their projects.
