This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a kindergarten teacher, I work with eighteen, warm and amazing students. Some of my students are English language learner. These intelligent and curious students are starting school, some for the first time during a pandemic. They come to school excited to learn new things. They are very eager to learn and to explore the world around them. These little people would benefit and learn through hands-on experiences.
My Project
These materials will be used for the students to explore the science topics in kindergarten. They will use the books to learn through text about weather and needs of plants and animals. Students will use seeds to plant, discuss what plants animals need. They will also make observation about the changes in scientific terms.
Generalizing learned skills is extremely important for students.
They will use skills learned in other areas such as learning numbers to play in the science center. They will manipulate sand to strengthen their fine motor skills. They will also use the pulley toys to explore pushing and pulling.
