My Students

I teach second graders. These second graders are so excited to participate in school when hands-on approaches and technology are involved. They are smart and creative. They are excited to participate in writer's workshop and publish all types of stories and create all types of art. They are excited to learn math skills, spelling, grammar, reading, vocabulary, and physical skills.

Second graders are the perfect age to foster a love of learning that should continue throughout their lives.

They live in view of the beautiful mountains and are active every minute of the day. Their favorite time is when we get together in our classroom for read aloud. They laugh and joke and support each other.

My Project

This project will bring many supplies into our classroom to help with science and art. The sets of prisms will allow each student to learn and experiment with their own prism instead of just watching a demonstration. The rock display will allow students to see samples of rocks from the United States. I am always amazed at how intensely interested students are about rocks. Rock displays get their attention every day while we learn about rocks.

Students need to be able to 'see and do' learning.

The more opportunities that they have to be involved, the more opportunities they have to build and own their knowledge.

The art supplies will allow each student to have their own set of supplies that they will always have access to including a pouch to hold them in. The other supplies like the microphone, tablets, sunglasses, and magnetic cable ties will make learning fun and keep us organized. Thank you so much for considering helping us with our project.
