There are also short answer and comprehension questions at the end of the reading to check student learning. Scholastic News 2023-2024 has 32 lessons and activities spanning September through June covering topics such as Good School Citizens, Three Kinds of Communities, Veterans Day, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Women's History, Earth Day, Summer Safety, Good Work Habits, Presidents Day, Dental Health Month and so many more. Science Spin is also a nonfiction magazine used to reinforce state standards in the area of science.
