My Students

Math and science go hand and hand. This year we need to learn about 3-D shapes. Using hands on manipulatives is very important way to learn and explore. We can use these materials to explore and find 3-D shapes in the world. Children need hands on materials to learn and explore.

We are a public school with limited funding.

The children are eager to learn and enjoy hands on materials. Our school is Kindergarten through Fifth grade. We have about 700 students on our school. I teach a half day program. So I have about 50 students that I teach everyday. We are very busy and need to cover lots of material to get ready for first grade. One of our standards this year is to learn about shapes and 3-D shapes. My students learn best from exploring hands on materials. We need hands on materials to explore and inquire about. These materials can be used during math or science. The children will need to describe and find 3-D shapes in their world. My students are eager to learn and have fun learning math and science everyday.

My Project

The materials geometric shapes, colorama game, I Know My Shapes big book, bean bag shapes and a shape and color discovery set we are needed to learn about 3-D shapes. We will use this materials when learning about shapes in the world. These materials will increase their knowledge in math, science and reading. The children will have hands on materials to learn and compare to things in the world. They will also prepare the children for the future. Children love hands-on materials and learn from them. They will how to describe, draw and compare the 3-D shapes. This will cover a one of the Kindergarten standards for the year.

Some of the materials needed to learn about 3-D shapes are geometric shapes, games, a big book, bean bags and a discovery set.

These hands on materials will increase the knowledge of my students in math and science. It will also cover one of the Kindergarten standards which is important for First grade. Hands on materials is a great way and fun way for children to learn and grow. The can use their hands to explore and compare.
