This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Science and Math are very interesting subjects, but may be hard for first graders to grasp. They need a lot of visuals when adding and subtracting numbers. They need representation of numbers for them to make sense. With our manipulatives and math materials that I am asking for, my students will be able to grasp the ideas with ease. In first grade, we learn the beginnings of money counting. With our money counting kit, we will be able to correlate money amounts with numbers.
Also, in first grade, students learn about plants, animals, the weather and measurement.
These materials introduce these subjects in fun ways like Life Science Bingo. These materials will help our little ones think like scientist and mathematicians. This project will greatly help fulfill our Math and Science needs.
