Science and Math Journals For Building Communication and Cooperation Skills
My students need science journals for recording our observations during our experiments. We need math journals for daily math practice to go along with our math curriculum.

My Students
In my first grade classroom, we continually explore, inquire, communicate, collaborate, experiment, practice, create and grow! The first grade world is a busy one and these lives change immensely in this first year of grade school.
These students are first graders in Carlsbad, California and I am so proud to be a part of their foundation and help inspire our future in these great little minds!
They are all so excited to learn each day and give their best in our classroom community, as well as in the strong school wide community we have built.
My Project
Math and Science are two areas of Common Core that we are really growing and developing in the curriculum! We need Math practice journals as well as observation journals to be able to write our observations and explain our thinking!
These journals give the appropriate space that first graders need to communicate their knowledge in an organized way.
They will be able to take these journals home at the end of the year and share their success and growth!
Journaling is so important for growing their skills in communication by writing their thoughts and sharing with others. These tools will be used to increase the skills of communication and cooperation in our classroom as well as at home, by sharing their work.
