My Students

4th Graders Rock! They are learning so many new things and becoming more engaged and making those deeper connections with their curriculum. Inquiry-based learning and hands-on activities are what's going on with the 4th graders in the classroom.

They are eager to learn and love learning with those hands-on experiences.

I teach two sections of 4th graders, I have them both for math and science. Each group is unique in the ways they learn. Using all types of different manipulatives in class helps us become better thinkers.

My Project

I would like to give my students access to Chromebooks this year in our science classroom. In science, my students are always asking questions like why, or how? I would like to give them opportunities to discover the answer for themselves.

Having Chromebooks in the classroom would make it easier to allow a student to find the information they are seeking at that moment.

As the teacher with the only computer in the room, I am the one who is looking up information or trying to remember to look it up later, to share with them. For them to have the chance to immediately find out the information would be amazing. I believe if they could research their question as soon as they thought of it, the answer would stick with them for much longer.

We also need Chromebooks for the days we do labs. There are many YouTube videos they could watch that would help them understand the concepts better of what we are trying to accomplish on lab days. For the students that finish labs early, a Chromebook would be a way they could research the lab and take it a step farther.
