Science and Math Books

My students need books about financial responsibility, taking care of our planet, and learning about the weather, as well as 12 seat cushions for easy reading.

My Students

One of the best ways to learn about anything important is through books. We have books about coins and dollar bills, the history of money and how to make it. But how to save and spend, now that's a life skill worth reading about!

I have 25 curious second graders.

Second graders typically like to read about the world they live in. They are curious about how things work (recycling), why things happen (weather), and how our world operates with money. Once they learn these things, they are eager to make it happen in their life. They become mini bankers, planet protectors, and meteorologists.

My Project

My students will be able to choose any of these books to read to self, read to someone, or read to me. They will be able to use these books during math when learning about money. And during science, as we cover weather heavily in second grade. In social studies, we learn about where they live and how to take care of our planet. I have also requested 12 cushions to make reading on the carpet a more comfortable option.

I believe these 3 topics go together; financial responsibility, saving our planet, and weather conditions.

The sooner we are able to effectively teach our children to save and spend their money wisely, the better our world will be. We can lower poverty, protect our beautiful planet and enjoy the weather along the way. And...why not learn all of this with the comfort of a soft cushion?
