As a 6th grade science teacher, I have students that are inner city students, many of the students ride a bus to school, we have foster children and a lot of single mothers' that are raising our students.
My students are curious about science and want to learn and enhance their knowledge of the curriculum taught.
However, through out the year we have tried to implement BYOB- bring your own device. Some students have it but the majority will sit and not take part in the lessons when we are doing a quiz on quizlet or quizzez, because they do not have a phone, tablet or laptop.
Please help my students to participate and benefit from the joy of feeling that they belong in the science classroom.
My Project
My students will be using the tablets for group activities. My class use quizzez and quizlet at the end of the lessons to acquire the knowledge gain for that particular lesson learnt.
Also, for group activities I can wi-fi the information for each group to the Promethean board for all students to see group assignments.
This will enhance our learning in science for technology.
My students will now be able to use the technology instead of sitting in class saying I don't have my device to use. These tablets will help my students to have and interaction in class with technology learning.
