Sci Fi Books for New Elective Course

Help me give my students books for the science fiction course of our dreams!

My Project

Nearly 100 students have signed up for a brand new English elective course at our school for next year. I'm so excited to share all the wonders of Science Fiction with them -- everything from Arthur C. Clarke to Ursula K. Le Guin to Octavia E. Butler.

These two books will make that course possible.

Andy Weir's The Martian is incredible (and with his Project Hail Mary film coming out in March, there's no better time to read it!), and Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide is a classic. These are some of the longer texts we'll read, and kids appreciate physical books, especially in this age of PDFs and e-Readers.

But, naturally, an elective is a lower priority than the core courses, so I'm asking for your help to supplement our school's budget to make my course everything these 100 kids and I are hoping it can be.
