My Project

**What I Love About My Students and How These Resources Will Help Them Learn**

I love how resilient, curious, and thoughtful my students are.

In our high school civics and psychology classes, they come in each day ready to learn, even when they’re juggling challenges outside of school. Many of them treat our classroom not just as a place to learn but as a safe space where they can eat meals, recharge (literally and emotionally), and find calm in their day.

The compostable forks and chopsticks will support students who often eat meals during class due to busy schedules or food insecurity—giving them dignity and a clean way to eat without waste. The phone charging station will help them stay connected to family or manage school responsibilities without the stress of a dead battery. Journals and notebooks will support reflection, note-taking, and mindfulness exercises in our psychology lessons. Stickers will be used for motivation, classroom culture-building, and to celebrate small wins. Conversation cards will encourage connection and empathy—whether used as class starters or during decompression time.

Each item on this list contributes to the learning and well-being of students who give their best every day. Your support helps us maintain a classroom that is as nurturing as it is educational.
