This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello, this year is our school's first year offering wrestling to our students. We are a charter school in the DFW area. Since it is our pilot year we are classified as a club instead of a sport. We currently have no funds for the equipment we need. We are fundraising for some of our stuff but could use all the help we can get.

Luckily we have had some stuff donated but are still in need of stuff for our students.

The singles will give our kids uniforms to wear when we have scrimmages against school. Since they will need to bring extra stuff for practices, the backpacks will work great so that they don’t have to take space away from their school backpacks.

Our goal for the program is to introduce a sport that not only makes you physically strong but mentally. As a wrestler, I know firsthand all the benefits that our students will get out of this in school and personal life. Our students are determined to learn a new sport that isn’t the typical sport that most kids are used to. That alone makes them special and shows that they have to dedication and heart that is needed in this sport
