My Project
Our middle and high school students attend a structured, uniformed alternative school designed to meet the needs of at-risk youth. Many of our students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and represent minority populations who often face additional challenges outside of school. To foster a safe, supportive, and equitable learning environment, we are requesting long-sleeve uniform shirts in white, black, and gray.
Providing these shirts ensures that all students have access to consistent, appropriate, and seasonally suitable attire.
Many of our families struggle to meet the financial demands of purchasing school uniforms, and without this support, students may come to school in non-compliant clothing or lack proper attire for colder weather. Supplying long-sleeve options removes a barrier to learning by allowing students to focus on academics rather than clothing concerns.
Uniform shirts also reinforce a sense of community, belonging, and pride within our school. They create equity by minimizing visible socioeconomic differences, which can reduce peer conflict and feelings of exclusion. For our students—many of whom require additional personalized attention and encouragement—the consistency of a uniform helps promote stability, accountability, and respect.
By providing long-sleeve shirts, we are not only meeting a practical need but also reinforcing our commitment to nurturing an inclusive environment where students feel supported, valued, and ready to succeed.
