This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The goal of this project is to provide basic school supply kits for at least 50 underprivileged students who don't come to school on the first day with the supplies they need to be successful. In my school, students often come to school without basic supplies. It makes them feel sad when they see others around them come to school with some of the things they need. It is very rare for a student to come to school with everything because it is difficult to gather family funds to provide school supplies.

This project will provide 50 children with a pencil box, a box of crayons, some pencils, a pair of scissors, a glue stick, 2 notebooks, and 2 folders.

The goal is for them to walk into the classroom with a gift of beautiful new supplies set up and labeled on their desks. This will ease the transition to first grade, ease students' nerves, make them feel special and loved, and help them feel like they are ready for the new school year. The cardstock will be used to help them make some great crafts this year. Please help this project come to life and brighten a deserving student's year with a new school supply kit! Thank you.
