it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hello! My name is Mariela Cervantes and I am a post seconday Spanish teacher. I teach multiple grades at Newark Memorial High School. I was out on maternity leave and family bonding for half of the school year. When I returned this week, I noticed I lacked many supplies. I no longer had comfortable seating for my students in the classroom. Comfortable seating is necessary for students that cannot sit in a desk for two hours and need a break. That is why I am asking for Yoga balls for my students.By having yoga balls they relax and feel more at ease when learning in the class.
My students are anxious to begin their fist painting project about Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo.
I am in need of canvas so students do not spend on buying their own. Currently, we are facing an economical crisis and I am finding myself providing free supplies to them. Hence, I am asking for notebooks as well. Students need notebooks to write notes and warm-ups.
Another important supply needed in the classroom is ink for the printers. We have a class printer provided by Donorschoose that is in need of ink. Students use this ink to print out assignments for my class or from other classes.
