This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a proud sixth-grade teacher with an absolutely amazing class! I currently work in my hometown and I love it. However, the school I work for is a Title I school. It is located in an inner-city where poverty and crime are high and resources are incredibly low. The majority of the items in my class, (from pencils to a whiteboard, to my entire classroom library), were purchased by me at some point throughout the past six years.

My happy classroom provides a safe haven for my unique, diverse and inquisitive class.

My students have a natural love and curiosity for learning. I want to continue to encourage them and find ways to promote a positive, collaborative environment which fosters their love for learning.

Please help provide my students with the opportunity to access the tools they need to be successful!

My Project

The supplies in this project will be used in the classroom in a variety of ways. Basic supplies are needed in order for students to be successful in the classroom. Students do plenty of projects and we create interactive notebooks in each subject area.

Students needs new supplies in order to make anchor charts to display work in the classroom.

Chart paper, markers and paper edgers will allows students to create beautiful displays to demonstrate their knowledge.

Students in my class also love competitive review games such as Kahoot and Jeopardy. A set of class buzzers will be great for a new review game.

Lastly, a few items that were added to this project are for our calming area where students are encouraged to take a mindful minute.
