This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come to school with bright shiny faces and smiles that light up the room! As the majority of our students are considered low-income, for many school is the only place that is a safe, warm, and a welcoming consistency in their lives. We are a dependable source of comfort and love that our students require to prosper.

We consider it our duty to make each and every one of our students feel at home when they are at school because we know that our students are worth going the extra mile for.

My Project

Every year, many of our students start off with the right supplies, but there are also many who do not. Having basic supplies in our classroom helps to alleviate stress for students who are unprepared. Things like pencils, erasers, crayons, and markers being readily available in our room will make a world of difference. Students will be able to utilize pencils and dry erase markers daily, and the "art" supplies will help students bring creativity to their standards-based group projects. Copy paper allows us to differentiate far beyond the confines of our prescribed math workbooks. Students need a variety of experiences to truly learn and grow.

In order for students to learn and grow, they need materials to help them to be present as much as possible.

Having the correct supplies is one way to increase attendance, but we also need to keep our kids healthy. Having items like tissues, wipes, sanitizer, and paper towels helps us rid our classroom of germs and therefore keep our kids in school.
