This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I want the best for my students. Every day you can find us working to become more mature readers and writers by learning new strategies. I teach an amazing group of kindergarten ELL students. They live in New York City.

In my classroom, I have 25 wonderful English language learners who are excited to come to school and are curious each day for what adventures will happen.

My students come from an underprivileged area where many of them come from uneven upbringings. Although some struggles continue at home, they still come to school every day with smiles on their faces ready to learn!

My Project

My students are excited to come to school and learn. They have been learning remotely and have missed their teachers, friends and their school. In order to ensure safety for each of my students while they are in school, each student should have their own supplies to learn. This year students will not be able to share their materials. Each student will need their own individual dry eraser markers, and crayons. Students will use the dry erase markers to practice writing letters and numbers. They will be able to take them home and have supplies at school. In addition, my students need new centers. The laminating pouches will support me in creating literacy and math centers for each kid. Students will continue to practice what they have learned in phonics and math. I will create letter matching games, picture and sound games. Along with counting and matching numbers game, students will practice tracing numbers on dotted lines. The laminating pouches will create durable centers that will last a long time. I also want my students to express their artistic side. My students need smocks while they paint so they don't get their own clothes dirty with paint. We will create many hands-on drawings and paintings that will support their learning.

Students will learn so much with these materials needed.
