This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kinders are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are mathematicians, writers, readers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and teachers.
They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their lifelong education.
Many of the students in my school are being raised in low-income households and receive a free daily breakfast and lunch. With limited school supplies, it's difficult to teach fun and creatively. Despite these setbacks, I am hoping to inspire my students so that they continue on a path of academia and constant learning.
My Project
I am requesting basic classroom supplies, such as post its, highlighters, markers, pens, crayons, folders, feedback phones, and more. Post its, flair pens, markers, and crayons are essential to readers and writers workshop for teaching points. We use different writing materials throughout the entire day including different pens, assorted markers, and paper. We will use feedback phones in reader's workshop so that students can hear themselves when they read. Poly envelopes will be used to keep their leveled readers inside and to teach essential time-management skills. Students use highlighters to highlight their new sight words to become avid readers and writers. In addition, students need Expo markers to write their sight words and Expo cleaning spray to clean their boards. We need tray stackers, paper clips, binder clips, laminating pouches, rubber bands, and contact paper to keep their work organized and tidy. Puffy stickers will be used as an incentive for good behavior! With these basic classroom supplies, my students will have the essential tools for learning in an organized classroom.
