Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love helping my students develop their love for reading. It's so amazing when they get hooked onto reading. I like to get my students involved in reading by making every book a project itself. They will design a new cover and give a report on what they learned from the book using the crayons and markers. They will find key elements of the story and write them in their composition notebooks and use the pencils to do comparisons to characters and find the author's purpose. Highlighters are used to highlight key elements in stories that the students will need to know for reading comprehension and to prepare for assessments over what they read. If you are able to get a student to fall in love with reading at a young age you will have created an avid reader for life.
