School Store Supplies

My Students

The students I teach come from an area that, over the years has been a high poverty, high crime area. It is my goal to change that stigma and help give them the best of every opportunity that I can whether it be by providing basics, or new opportunities.

The students I teach are eager to learn and soak up new information like sponges.

All 20 of them keep me on my toes at all parts of the day. I wouldn't trade my time with them for anything! They are busy and active learners.

My Project

Our school has a school-wide positive behavior program that allows our students to earn a paycheck for positive behavior, turning in homework, going above and beyond, and a variety of many other things. Students earn a check each week and then have the opportunity to shop in our school store once a month.

Imagine a school of 400 children all shopping in one month at the same store...needless to say, the prized items go quickly.

I have decided to try to implement my own store in the classroom to help offset some of the heartaches of most desired items having already been purchased.

These items are some that I know go quickly in our school store (who knew giant erasers are so fun) and ones that are chosen often during indoor recess (lego sets). I also have a variety of budding artists in my room who will love the chance to purchase a how to draw books. Earbuds are always a hot commodity as we also use technology often!
