Some of our students with the highest needs in the building are looking to improve their attendance and behavior. They look forward to conferencing daily where they reflect on what they did well, could improve on, who can help them, and what strategies they should try in the future. They earn positive and negative points throughout the day which permits them to spend those points at the end of each day on a positive incentive. They love snacks, water bottles, footballs, basketballs, mannequin heads, and PS5 controllers. This further helps them receive feedback and build their social and emotional regulation skills. Thank you for providing high-leverage items that will motivate these students! Not only that, but the flexible seating, headphones, and curtains aid students in remaining focused on their sensory needs. Our school was unable to provide teachers pencils this year, leading to students with emotional support not having the resources they require, getting bored, and receiving discipline infractions. You are diminishing barriers to education with each item. We will utilize the minute-to-win-it games for team building within social skills and level-up celebrations.
