This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of young ladies that are forming part of a first ever dance team at our public charter school, a school where many students come for low-income homes and have little to no exposure to extra-curricular activities, a school where many students only feel a sense of stability, security and cared for with in our classrooms. Many students face different challenges but the one thing that unites my team is their love to dance. My students have come together to form a strong sisterhood, pride in their performance, and developed responsibility.

My Project

All schools are in need of a united team that promotes school spirit, pride, and leadership. Being that we are starting the first dance team our school has ever had, we are in need of props such as these pom poms. My project will ease the expenses that many of my low income students won't have to make and allow them to be part of the team. As our first season fast approaches, we want to look sharp and ready to promote the much needed pride our school needs. We hope to represent our school by performing at pep-rallies and games. Raven spirit never dies!
