Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Being able to support students and help them with the goal of improving their social, emotional, behavioral, and academic outcomes is a major goal for all students in our school. In order to be able to support their needs, it is important to have resources to support the goal. In order to do that, I ask for your support for our students. I am the school social worker for the whole school so some of the donations being requested are to also support some of our students who struggle throughout the day to keep focus and can have the opportunity to have a snack to get them through at least the whole, if not part of the day. Also, the games are to engage students during individual and group counseling and group activities. My room is a safe gateway for students to come and de-escalate, take a breather, or have different scenery. My room is divided into four different stations to support students who are homeless or displaced and need to get themselves together; a homey vibes section, a calming area, and a group area. In advance, we thank you for your thoughtful consideration and donation as I seek to help and support as many students and families as possible this year through The Department of Specialized Services as the School Social Worker. In the end, when a student leaves my room or is done working with me, they will have either a snack, activity, or items to support them through de-escalation and feeling a bit more comfortable.
