Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
School resources for my underserved students is all about providing resources for my students who come from diverse backgrounds where the majority of students come from poverty. Over 90% of my students have food insecurity and barely survive. NYC schools have cut budgets and we lack the basic resources other schools have, including food snacks, headphones, and computers and tablets. These resources will have a profound impact on my student's learning and engagement. The food will help motivate and nourish my core classes to be more engaged and focused in class. The headphones will allow for individual engagement and focus in a very noisy environment in the South Bronx. The tablets and computers will ensure my students have the appropriate technology to succeed and thrive in school
