This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is located in the Bronx, where students are diverse and come from different backgrounds. Teaching basketball for grades 3-5, I've come across students with all types of skill sets. There are students who have few skills because they don't have the resources to master the skills while there are other students who look as if they have a future in professional sports. Regardless of their skill set, they all share the same passion in loving the game of basketball. My student-athletes are always coming up to me ensuring that we have practice because they want to play and learn so badly.
No matter what my students' skill levels are, my goal is to teach my students how to live a long healthy life through physical activity.

My Project
Donations to this project will mean a lot to the student-athletes. This is the first year where we have the opportunity to form a basketball team and play other schools across the Bronx. As students are excited for this moment, understandably so, we do not have all of the equipment to support them. Your donations will be contributing to every student having shorts for practice and games.
Having the whole team wearing the same shorts will create camaraderie amongst the students.
Students will be extra motivated to play harder because they will all be representing the same thing: basketball. They will all have family, friends, and teachers watching and supporting them.
