I teach high school English literature and writing in a high-need school with mostly low income, inner city children.
The students have struggled to keep the school newspaper in print. They kept their spirits high when the school did not have money to have the paper published and were forced to photocopy their stories and hand it out to other students. Now, there is a minimal budget to have the paper printed.
A digital camera will greatly benefit the school newspaper. Several students have an interest in learning about photojournalism, but we lack a digital camera.
