Every morning, we start off the day with greeting each other. The students are ready to see and learn the magic of Chemistry. The days I have demonstrations the students eagerly wait and are ready to help. I want my students to be the global citizens and expand their horizon.
I have 33 young energetic 10th graders in Chemistry.
They are very eager to learn and step into the modern world of technology. They want to explore all the new tools and enjoy learning. My school is really diverse. I have student population from low income family too. Sometimes, their only outing can be to the school and only positive interaction is with their teacher. They have thirst for knowledge and want to do well. They have the right to learn and do well do and get all the resources needed to excel. They are so ready to step into a more challenging and competitive world. In order for them to be successful I feel it is my duty to prepare them.
My Project
I would like my students to fully use the technology available in the modern world. The Chromebooks will be used to access the games, jeopardy, animations and 3D molecular structures. They can see the molecules in action and understand the abstract concepts of chemistry. Online quizzes will give the students an opportunity to practice and do a self check. It will prepare them for the tests and lab analysis.
The Chromebooks will give students an interactive experience.
Most of the time the students know the definition of the word but they do not understand the actual process. How does dissolving take place? Why does soap clean the dirt? What are polar molecules? Simulations will help the students to answer these questions.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
