Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students are eager to learn and the community is eager to see the achievements of all of its students. The students come from all walks of life and deserve the best education that can be afforded to them. Together, the community can make a difference.

Proper resources are sometimes not easy to come, but together we can provide hands-on opportunities for learning in the classroom.

Our school is over 90% free and reduced lunch and always in need of resources due to lack of funding. The students are amazing, talented, and gifted. Students become eager to learn and be engaged when involved in interactive activities.

My Project

My 7th and 8th grade Agriculture classes have been given an area outside of our library where they can begin a garden. We have no supplies at this moment for this project. The students will have the opportunity not only to use the garden tools to plant directly in the ground, but utilize the raised beds to grow vegetables. The students' goal is to take plants from seed to harvest and be able not only to enjoy the process, but enjoy the fruits of their labor. Students will be able to take home fresh vegetables and the classes can donate fresh vegetables to our school and community. Learning about agriculture and where food comes from is knowledge all students should have.
