School Counselor Needs SEL and Art Supplies

Help me give my students much needed Social Emotional Learning after this past year of school closures, and to integrate as much art as possible as our art teacher position was cut due to school budget.

My Students

I work at one of the largest and diverse, K-5 elementary school in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of HI. I service all of the 2nd-3rd graders as their grade level counselor and teach weekly guidance lessons. I will need supplies to help with students SEL and well being and plan to integrate art, music and PE into my whole class, small group and individual lessons. This past year of Covid school closures has taken out many enrichment positions and I will attempt to the best of my ability to make sure that the students feel safe and cared for in a creative way.

My Project

Aloha,

As an Elementary School Counselor, I will be teaching over 300 2nd-3rd graders during a "Specials" rotation a few days weekly.

In order to effectively teach Social Emotional Learning, I plan to teach lots of art lessons to the students as our school recently cut our art teacher position due to budget cuts.

I will also be working with students 1:1 and in small groups and they will need sensory items to also help them cope as they transition back to school full-time.
