Help me give my students access to their own copies of Scholastic Storyworks magazines to support their success in reading and writing with engaging fictional stories, nonfiction articles, poetry, and more.

My Project
My students need supplementary reading materials. We adopted a new Reading series, but the textbooks do not have enough comprehension skills with them, and the stories are dry and boring. My students also need access to current nonfiction articles. I teach Social Studies, as well as ELA, and the Storyworks magazines often have historical or current events articles in them. This would be a great way to help integrate our Social Studies curriculum into the ELA curriculum. Storyworks also covers poetry, plays, infographics, etc., so the students will read multiple genres in each issue.
You can help make it possible for each student to get his/her own copy of Storyworks.
Not only will my students have the chance to write on the pages and underline the text as I teach them various comprehension strategies, but they'll also get to keep their own copies so they can read and practice our strategies at home.
Storyworks is an amazing magazine that will engage my students and teach them valuable reading comprehension strategies so that they can be successful readers and develop a lifelong love of reading.
