This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are six year-olds, who come from different kind of families. Most of them come from low-income families. The majority of my students are just learning how to read. My students need to be exposed to different kinds of literature in order to be motivated to read. My students are very eager to learn. They love to read about nature, animals, and current events. They are fascinated with how things work. They love playing games, even if they are educational.

My Project

Textbooks are great but Scholastic Newsletters are the best! The topics in the scholastic newsletters are relevant to what six year-olds are curious about. There is a technology component to the scholastic newsletter that allows me to farther dive into a great lesson. My students are motivated to read and learn about the various topics scholastic news introduce. My students always look forward to reading and learning from their scholastic newsletter. More fascinating, they love taking their weekly scholastic newsletters home and read them to their parents. The scholastic newsletters are educational and fun. I do hope this project gets funded!
