My Project
I have regularly used Scholastic News in my classroom because I love it, but mostly because my students love it. Giving them "a newspaper" builds a love of learning about current events as well as Social Studies and Science around them.
Scholastic News is interesting, engaging and eye catching for kindergartners.
The digital resources are perfect for capturing the students interest and activating prior knowledge before they are given a newspaper copy written at their level of reading. I also love the extension activities that encourage students to show what they have learned through comprehension stories and engaging projects. They have added a new feature that focuses on a letter that corresponds with the issue we are reading and my kindergarteners really love it! I am excited to have this resource for next year's class!
