My Students
I love my students! I teach a 3rd grade ENL (English as a New Language) class in a Title 1 school in the lower east side of Manhattan. The demographics of my students are Asian-American and Hispanic. Their levels range from expanding to commanding and they are all becoming very proficient in the English language.
My students come to school each and every day filled with energy and excitement about learning.
They are a unique, compassionate and driven group of curious children who I love to provide with the most engaging and effective materials to help them reach their highest potential.
My Project
Scholastic News has been around forever! I would love to keep it going with my own students!
Scholastic News features high-interest informational texts, standards-based lesson plans, and online features like videos, games, Text-to-Speech, multiple reading levels, and more.
Students have learned so many things from Scholastic and I know that it will be an amazing thing to be able to provide it to them digitally at home and in print at school! Please help fund my project so my students can be exposed to various, exciting texts! This will keep them eager for each month's subscription!
