Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I want my students to come to school each day excited to read. I know this can happen with a subscription to Scholastic News magazine. With Scholastic News, my students will be able to collaborate and sharpen important literacy skills, all while diving into stories they enjoy! I am also requesting snacks for learners to help nourish them throughout the day.

The magazines will provide my students with engaging, high-interest reading material to spark their love of reading.

The magazines will also allow them opportunities to practice and apply important literacy skills, to help them become more advanced readers.

My students will work independently, with partners, and in small groups to comprehend, discuss, and debate the articles in the magazines. Students will read informational texts, on a variety of topics including STEM, to allow them to investigate as scientists, historians, and readers.
