My Students

The students in my school are super eager to learn, yet have limited resources to motivate them to be as successful as possible. They have many barriers and obstacles that they face ever day of their lives, and often struggle socially and emotionally in school. The trauma that they are faced with often deters them from doing their best in school; therefore I am looking for a motivational tool to make them want to learn and be the best that they can be!

My Project

The Scholastic News magazines that we are requesting, will enable each and every 5th grade student to read and write about Social Studies by visually exploring awesome topics associated with their 5th grade curriculum!

Each student will receive their own copy each month, which will allow them to practice reading and writing techniques, as well as give them the opportunity to bring the materials home in order to encourage study skills.

Pictures are super important to struggling readers, and Scholastic News provides amazing pictures to help children understand what they are reading, and to give students a better idea about the topics discussed.
