Scholastic News! Learning About the World Around Them

Help me give my students access to high interest articles, in Social Science and Science, with Scholastic News. The engaging articles gives students access to current events to understand and apply real world connections beyond their neighborhood.

My Project

The students in my classroom come to school knowing that they will be encouraged and supported every day, despite what happens in their homes and neighborhoods. They are outgoing, energetic, critical thinkers and compassionate learners, but most have limited knowledge about the world around them.

The articles in the Scholastic Magazines offer students the opportunity to spark their learning and make connections to the world outside their neighborhood through current events.

The monthly magazines offer a variety of engaging articles that contain rich vocabulary, content, and cross-curricular topics, and would be a great addition to our Social Science and Science curriculum.

The 3rd Grade Scholastic News Magazines will help my students develop critical nonfiction reading skills by reading interesting and exciting weekly articles. They will get to explore different places in the world, learn about different cultures, and different ways people live and work around the world. The notebooks will be used to journal their thoughts, take notes, and write about the topics we will learn.

Your donations will ignite my students' learning excitement with real-world content that connects to their lives and keeps them excited about learning. Motivation like this raises achievement. And that's something we can all get excited about!
