My Students
I have not yet met my students for this year. However, because of the covid virus and students being unable to attend school, I anticipate a drop in reading levels. It is going to take a lot of patience and a lot of extra work from both me and my students to bring scores back up to where they should be! I know we can do it with the right attitudes and supplies.
My Project
The Scholastic materials that I am requesting for my students will be extremely helpful in building reading skills while also providing articles and information, aligned to the second grade core, that is able to keep young kids interested enough to want to read. I know my students will look forward to and even be excited for each new Scholastic News to be delivered. Not only will these materials be beneficial in the classroom, but students will also be able to use these at home on their online days. The COVID virus has prevented kids from being in the ideal learning environment at school everyday. I hope that these materials will help build the skills that students have lost during this unusual and difficult learning time.
