This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 8th grade, special education students are struggling readers who are intimidated to pick up books because of their lack of reading skills. These Scholastic Math magazines not only offer interesting articles but they support my students by providing digital read-alouds for struggling readers, as well as videos and interactive games to help with comprehension. Providing these supports will give them the confidence and motivation they need to engage in class discussions and collaborate with their peers. Giving them the resources they need in ways that cater to each individual learning style will secure them and motivate them to want to learn more.
