My Students

Here at our school, we have some of the most ambitious and aspiring students, teachers, staff, and community. We are looking to continue to prepare everyone for 21st-century learning during this time of distance learning.

Our students are composed of thinkers, leaders, innovators, and problem solvers and we bring these communities of learners together through the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program.

Every student is a contributor to their success and we will work to help students find their passion, their voice, and their joy for learning!

My Project

Today's students urgently need social and emotional learning (SEL) support. One of the magazines that is chosen for this project is Choices. In Choices magazine, skills are embedded in their articles and resources to promote empathy, stress-management skills, a growth mindset, online safety, and more.

These magazines can be used in whole-class instruction, independent reading, small group lessons, and can be sent home for family engagement.

Math provides students with motivating real-world math and skill-building practice problems, while Scholastic Art brings classic and contemporary art to life. Not only do these magazines provide content that is grade and subject focused and adheres to key anchor standards across relevant subjects, but they also provide additional instructional materials and resources.
